Headcorn Flower Arrangers are a friendly active club based in the Community Centre in Headcorn Village.
The club was founded in 1975 and we celebrated our Ruby anniversary in 2015. We have monthly meetings on the first Wednesday of the month at the Longmeadow Hall in the Community Centre, starting at 7.30pm. We do not meet in January and our August meeting takes the form of a visit to a local formal garden. Visitors are always welcome at all meetings and we welcome those with no previous experience.
Meetings take the form of demonstrations by NAFAS demonstrators, workshops led by an expert flower arranger or in house workshops. The meetings are always great fun. The demonstrations give us lots of ideas and the workshops give us a chance to roll our sleeves up and “have a go”. Tea, coffee and biscuits are included on our meeting fees.
We also attend NAFAS events during the year, Members of the club also enter local Flower Arranging competitions and we will be represented at the Kent Show again this year.
Do come and see what we do – we are all very enthusiastic about flowers and would love to meet you!
Headcorn Flower Club invite you to join us to “March into Spring” Demonstration by Sophie Leathart
The fabulous Sophie Leathart will be demonstrating how to create a large urn without using foam. Sophie is an amazing florist – she trained with Moyses Stevens and is greatly inspired by the work of Constance Spry. Sophie uses seasonal foliage from the hedgerow or garden, enhanced with British grown flowers Inspirational This entertaining evening will be inspiring for ladies that create flowers for church, many of which are not allowing foam due to its destructive effects on our environment Join Us! We look forward to welcoming you to our first demo of the year Louise Brown (Secretary HFC, 07955 041834)
