Following requests from clubs, there will be First Aid Training on 27th March 2023. The course will start at 9.30 and will finish about 12.30. Tea and Coffee will be served from 9.15. The course will take place at Hothfield Village Hall, Park Drive, Hothfield TN26 1EQ which is near Ashford. The cost is £35 per person which covers the training fee. Kent Floral Art is paying for the hall.
The course will cover emergency situations which may occur at Flower Club including the usual cuts etc but also how to deal with major issues such as heart attack, stroke, etc while waiting for the emergency services. First Aid in these circumstances can make a significant difference to the outcome. The number of places on the course is limited and it is filling up fast so if you would like to attend please contact Gill Smaggasgale on gillsmaggasgale@yahoo.co.uk. If there is sufficient interest a second course will be run. Inspired by the world of fashion our show in 2023 is entitled "On the Catwalk". A fabulous demonstration by Stephen MacDonnell-Davey followed the Kent Floral Art AGM. A very successful day. Thank you to everyone involved.
Romney Marsh members are preparing to take part in the Light Up New Romney Lantern Parage with this really eye-catching lantern
Congratulations to Marion Matharu of Ashford for achieving a second place at the Sussex Area Show. Marion had entered a class entitled "Autumn Winds - Contemporary" which was open to club members from any area. It was a great design full of movement and very evocative of the title. .
The 63rd Annual General Meeting of The National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies will be held virtually on Wednesday 5th October 2022 at 10.30am. Further details of how to attend will be circulated nearer the time.
We are proud to announce that immediately following the AGM there will be a virtual demonstration titled "Mists & Mellow Fruitfulness" by our own Jacqui Arnold. We are extremely proud of Jacqui and know she will give a fabulous demonstration. Further information and a link for the meeting will be available nearer the time. Details of how to submit questions for this National AGM is being circulated to your clubs. In view of the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth on the 19th September, the Area Workshop scheduled for that date with Graham King has been moved to the following Monday 26th September. If you had wanted to come but were not free on the 19th but can make the 26th then please contact Diana Cooper as soon as possible. Her contact details are on the poster (this is the original poster so says the 19th but the workshop is now on the 26th). Our thanks to the Education team, Graham and the hall for enabling this to occur.
